New fiber optic multiplexer RAD Optimux-34
RAD Data Communications has released version 1.00 fiber optic multiplexer E3 Optimux-34, which, as the manufacturer promises, provides a simple and cost-effective solution for transporting traffic up to 16 E1 channels over a distance of 110 km.
The main channel interface of the E1 version of the Optimux-34 fiber optic multiplexer can be either a standard E3 coaxial interface or a fiber optic interface. Optical interfaces are based on 1310-nm / 1550-nm or 1310-nm / 1550-nm Long laser diodes for long-distance communication over a pair of single-mode fibers. The Optimux-34 multiplexer can optionally have a redundant power supply and a second trunk module to increase system reliability. The second trunk module provides redundancy with automatic switching in the event of a failure of the main fiber. Fiber optic multiplexer Optimux-34 transmits each of the E1 channels independently. E1 interface can be unbalanced 75 ohm or balanced 120 ohm.
